Wouldn’t normally encourage footballers to read comments online but I actually hope Jordan does read a lot of these, what an inspiring episode, great guy and as a fan on Liverpool it makes me proud to know this man is out captain.
Extremely under appreciated by so many Liverpool fans. A very humble footballer that sacrificed an awful lot to become the player he is today. Been a warrior for Liverpool ever since he broke into the first team, filling Stevies boots won’t be done but he’s doing and has done one hell of a job in doing it. I’m glad to call Jordan Henderson the captain of the club I’ve supported and grown up to love since I was kid. YNWA ❤
Nearly had me in tears. It's crazy that I feel like I can relate to this great player, leader and man. That struggling and failing, is what makes people great. Crazy that I feel I can relate with such a man. YNWA CAPTAIN.
Jordan is one of the most beautiful human beings I've ever seen. Our society celebrates all the wrong kinds of beauty doesnt it, but Jordan is just 'class without class' all the way down to his bones
This exactly and Thank you! 🙌🙏
@Generic Username it's called working class mate
One of the best captains in Liverpool history, proper leader, love Hendo.
Thank you! Hendo doesn’t deserve this hate right now! He’s awesome
👍👍
anything for him honestly
Hendo is by far one of the Best players we have had, not just on playing style but by dedication to cause and how he has scrafised himself for the team specially under Klopp. Every football player loves to play the smart football but he does all the hard work for the team so others shine along side of him. May continue for a very long time with us.
Captain fantastic. Has lead us to every trophy we could possibly win. You will go down in history laa
the biggest passenger in football history
@Risotto Nero he’s crucial in getting the best out of Trent. Wouldn’t have traded him for anyone although he’s losing his legs a bit now
Aka captain Hendo
I’m still in awe that we get this kind of real talk for free 😊 Brilliant watch! HENDO is a role model
As someone who judged Hendo harshly during his early years at the club, and having to fill the boots of our club's greatest ever player in Gerrard, he is the embodiment of hard work and self belief and proved all of his doubters wrong by leading the team to countless trophies. Proper team player, brilliant captain and will be remembered as a legend. YNWA.
I must admit i feel like a right nob being one of those people who were not a fan of this lad when he signed all those years ago. He's a true leg of the game and for Liverpool. Great video
A lot of people thought that but I was sure he was a good signing after seeing his previous 2 seasons at Sunderland. he was only a kid but he was already the leader in that team and gave it everything. not the greatest gifted player but you could see he wanted it more than everyone else in that Sunderland team
The word “legend” is used often these days, but Henderson arguably deserves it. A fantastic leader on and off the pitch, an inspirational journey of a career, a winner, and one of our most important and influential players in the last decade. Look how much we’ve suffered during his dip in form this season. It’s understandable given his age but we don’t have anyone similar to him to come in the side. We have a hard job in trying to replace him. He’s the perfect midfielder for Klopp’s system in the 8 position
One of the greatest, most authentic and most vulnerable interviews in history. This will go down in history.
What a legend he is . Deserves everything he has now 👏❤️
I grew up right next to Jordan, didn’t know him at all but happy to see someone from my area do so well. He’s honestly blown away everyone’s expectations, I don’t think anyone thought he would captain Liverpool to basically every trophy. Fair play to the lad, he’s had an amazing career so far.
That was an outstanding episode. Such a decent person, and generous in giving many insights into his journey and what he's learned along the way. I'd be proud to have him as my Captain.
what a wonderful message Jordan shared at the end, be not afraid to show your true self.
you can see his sincerity, genuinely keen to help people with his experience.
top bloke.
@Frank McNally interesting, where is that reference?
What a top athlete and person! The bits about self belief and having doubters really resonated with me.
It was one of the best interviews I have seen. What a wonderful insight! Just shows that footballers are human beings with insecurities, vulnerabilities, and have to go through many tough moments. We are too quick to jump on them when they have had a few bad performances when we don't know the full picture. One of the best captains Liverpool FC has ever had.
Jordan is an inspiration! A Legend and a fantastic player. Great series. 🙏🏻♥
Such an underrated player, but what a human he is. The good that he has done for others, taking the lead. Proud as punch he is our Captain and Stevie deffo passed it across, not down.
How can anyone doubt this lad? Nobody else deserves England captaincy or LFC captaincy more than Hendon. If he wants it he goes for it and doesn't stop. How can u not admire him?
Southgate should give him the armband back before either of them have to retire. It's a travesty Gareth took it off him in the first place.
Being a warrior is not about invulnerability. It's about absolute vulnerability. Strength is made perfect in weakness. Great Character. Great Captain. Great Man. YNWA! Cmon bro, I know you can turn this Real Madrid game around!
How can anyone not love this man? Legend ❤ YNWA
What a career Jordan has had so far, from being almost vilified by most Liverpool fans at the start having all that pressure out on him to perform out of position on right midfield under Kenny to now being in the spine and captain of one of the best Liverpool eras of all time. I’m proud to say I never slated him since the start. So proud of you Jordan lad
A great captain hall of fame captain a winning captain he’s been awesome for Liverpool over the years
Henderson is a man who ya can look up to in life not just football. #nevergiveup #hendo
I always instinctively knew and said that Jordan would come good in those early years when others were saying different just by how he carried himself and even how he came across in those early interviews. But this has further consolidated him as the very classy human being and inspirational leader that we've seen in recent years. Fascinating interview guys!
So much humility. No wonder his Dad feels proud. Proper LFC Legend
I love this episode ❤ Jordan is such a great example for everyone 👏 well done 👍
I was one of those detractors when Hendo first joined, but all he's done since then is prove me wrong many times over. A model example of someone who gives it everything, never throws in the towel, and lifts everyone around him. A fantastic human being on top of that. Sorry for ever doubting you, Captain!
I never saw a captain sit like that and talked for hours like hendo.Thats why hendo will always have my heart my number 14❤❤
Have to admit i was one of those that said he wasnt good enough in his first year or two .. but he stuck at it, he Improved and his mentality shone through. . Will go down as a liverpool legend when he finishes.. well done Jordan .you'll never walk alone.
I listened to this because I'm a Liverpool fan and love hendo but I got so much more out of this than I thought I would. Thanks to everyone involved in putting this out.
Captain fantastic.
Nothing but love for Hendo. Reds legend! YNWA!
What a really nice chat! Won everything there is to win at club level and still humble enough to acknowledge there's more to learn. Proud to have such a decent man captain our club. It's nice to see what a good crowd the England squad is nowadays too. There were times in the past I struggled to cheer for an England team filled with players I'd spend 38 weeks a year disliking, but when you look at the likes of Kane, Rashford, Henderson, I see a really likeable and decent bunch of people that I'm happy to cheer for
JH has turned out to be a good'n in the end, but at 1st I wasn't sure that LFC had done the right thing signing him when they did. However he has proved alot of people wrong and it was a great Podcast to listen too, for lots of reasons. 👍👍
So insightful, so enriching…..Leaders like Jordan giving his views are a pearls of wisdom 👍👍👍
What a top bloke, going through mental health issues myself, wise words from our captain, YNWA 🙏👍
Absolutely brilliant interview -- Thank you Hendo for your wise words.
Definitely Captain Fastasic - not only for Liverpool but during the pandemic and around that time - he got all the captains together and keeps it on the downlow - high performer and wth great humility - awesome role model!
Jordan. I could write an essay about you.
All I will say is, I hold you up there in my head and heart with Stevie g with king Kenny with shanks and with klopp.
Jordan you are a man of the people, working class people, there is no higher honour then that. You embody Liverpool and what it mean be apart of the city. YNWA
here here
A fascinating insight into someone that we sometimes take for granted...some great anecdotes too!
He has worked himself to the limit for LFC. Nothing but respect for this player. ❤
This podcast is so good and I enjoy listening to your podcast. The previous ones on Eddie Howe and Eric Dier are really good and I look forward to listening to that of Marcus Rashford on how he’s moved on from the issues he had last season and how he’s been the man for man Utd this season
Jordon comes across as such a nice person alway so positive, you never know what’s going on in peoples live this is why you should always treat people with respect
Loving these shows the deep dive onto people’s lives you do a great job setting the scene with the great interview questions. Job Well done.
The most disrespected hard worker heart giving skillful great leader in football ever! He's amazing, never give up
Hendo, what a man, footballer, captain. He is who young players should look up too. YNWA ❤
started listening to this podcast as a recommendation from my business studies teacher, and i cannot describe how amazing it has been.
the growth mindset and the idea of having three non negotiables has improved my wellbeing, but also my performance in the things i enjoy. so thank you for making these !
Greatest captain post the glory days of the 70s and 80s. Jordan still has a role with us for another 2 years. Thank you Jordan👏👏👏
Inspiration. Favourite Liverpool player. Immense leader.
in many ways, Jordan is an excellent Liverpool captain.
He exemplifies the Liverpool spirit, being the underdog and to rise above it all.
Incredible captain for Liverpool but an even better personality and role model.
YNWA Jordan i’m 51 and a LFC fan since i saw my 1st game at anfield aged 🙂,that was me in for life 😁,you are a credit to the club and your family!,on a personal note i know exactly how you felt concerning your dad😞 because i lost my mum to cancer in 2007 and it’s brutal + like you said it seems unfair!!,anyway i wish you and yours the best going forward 👍.
A fantastic captain but an even better man, loved this
A absolute legend. Seems like a proper top lad.
I've been watching international football for years as a big fan of the sport, and I can definitely say Jordan might not be the most talented player but he has the mindset of those that can read the game and make a better team, pretty much like Thomas Müller in Bayern Munich. A fantastic successor of Steven Gerard. Fantastic captains!
One of the best players to play for Liverpool. Great signing by Kenny Dalglish.
What a Captain, what a player, what a man!! enough said!!
What a honest man, he is very well grounded and has a moral grounding. His willingness to help others at the decrement of himself is evident. God bless 🙌
48:43 it's incredibly to think that Jordan's scary Roy Keane story took place in 2008. Feels like another lifetime. Don't reckon a coach would get away with abusing a youth team like that now.
I think this man has learnt to grow a hard skin but grew in confidence and realism. A great guy to looked up to
the guest ive been waiting for. as a twenty three yer old liverpool fan trying to find place in the world this is just ace! and that last sentence so true - being vulnerable gives people the opportunity to help u
What a brilliant human being.
A true legend of the club.
Most underrated player of our time.
Great Captain...a Sunderlnd lad who had a dream....and watching come true and also giving many Liverpool fans the ride of our life ...i say thank you. Paul from Australia YNWA
Came across the HP podcast as part of a conference. Speak a lot of sense to me. HP links into your entire life not just sport. Thank you Jake and Damian for changing my viewpoint.
That was a great idea guys to do a team with no cash spent , its helps people like me that doesn't spend any cash on fifa, and keep up the great work, been watching for years, and have picked up a few pointers from both of you,
Hardest thing any bloke can do, talking about his father if bad things have happened
Absolutely brilliant watch .so comfortable and interesting watch well done guys .Nice to hear Jordan tell us lfc fans how it is .YNWA
This interview had everything except the Hendo Shuffle!! Bloody Brilliant!
I loved this so much, really captivating. What a beautiful ending as well :)
What a man . What a player
Jordan may not be the most talented footballer but he sure as hell has one of the most elite mentalities a player could have. It almost reminds me of Ronaldo’s mentality even though it’s crazy to compare them both.
Such a great interview ! With Jurgen until the end #YNWA
Was one of his biggest critics the first couple of years. How wrong I was, what a player, what a man. Up the fucking reds ❤
What a brilliant. Pod. Cast. Hendo is one of our own I’m a long time sunderland supporter always kept an eye out for. Hendo. Love him. X
Such a great podcast, keep it up!
You have to respect him. He came to Liverpool with Gerrard as captain and there was talk of him been sold. But he became a great player then Gerrard leaves as he becomes captain. The amount of pressure that must have been
Absolutely brilliant! What a guy all those years ago he was going to Fulham now look
Absolutely loved it, subscribed straight away clue of the people ye have on and I wanted to watch them all but really love it. Its an interview bit it's more like a chat with mates and ye get real feeling out of it. I love it, now off to watch absolutely all of them lol
Must admit my perception of Jordan has changed over time. What I noticed was how peoples comments would change. When he was there and playing so many people criticised him. But when he was injured and not playing just as many people said we missed him so much on the pitch. His injury problems did get on my nerves initially but then I got something called plantar fasciitis which causes great foot pain which makes it hard to walk never mind run. To realise Jordan had this and probably played with it in secret made me realise how strong a character he is and the sacrifices he made for the club.
Just wish he'd shoot more from outside the box because he has the capability.
He seems like a rare contemporary footballer with true grit. The capable and resilient kind of man you'd want with you in an apocalypse situation.
Hendo = world class player, world class captain, and a world class man. YNWA Hendo
So proud he is our captain.
11:52 am in two minds about whether Jordan's father's decision to tell his son that was healthy. On the one hand, it seems like it kept Jordan from worrying and dissolving in fear so he could play (and play well), but on the other it does kind of seem like emotional blackmail. Jordan says here that he connected his ability to play with "saving" his Dad's life, which...doesn't seem good.
He’s one of the best still a Sunderland. Lad at heart One of our own. I’ve always hoped he’d come bk. in some form or another trainer. Managerial I don’t care. As long as he comes to the. . S. O. L 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️⚽️⚽️
Enjoyed this seems really genuine also.
I think Damian over complicates questions sometimes however then resorts to asking them in a way he should have done in the first place.
Jordan is one of the greats, no doubt.
After watching this episode we deffo need one with Jurgen Klopp
Captain. Leader. Legend.
Luck is just opportunity meets preparation. Mint quote 👌
My Captain!!! Soo love Hendo!😊
This is the most unexpected free podcast I have seen this is worth than money the 1½ hour I was thinking why Don't I see this in 2020 when I changed my career to coaching at the age of 24 years I'm very sure I will a position ranked ¹
From a blue he's a great role model for young kids respect hendo
1:17:58 oh....💔I know he was only talking about the perceptions of others, but it still hurts.
Absolutely lovely this from Jordan
Only people who don't understand the game think Hendo is crap. IYKYK. Legend, end of.
Captain Hendo. A leader of men
One of my favorite reds ever ❤️
He does have a great mentality
He should be grateful to the person who advised him to go to Liverpool from sunderland when he was 15/16. Maybe send a few £ their way :)
