Yes the Mate 30 was released for China with language and other features to comply with China laws, features and culture. And since there are no Google services in China there is no need for it. If you read (and understand) reviews by Chinese consumers there is no question: the Mate 30 is the very best smartphone in the world by a long shot.
For the real world outside of Nutsland U.S.A. all Huawei products are available and that include ALL countries in the Americas. The Huawei P30 Pro sell like mad in Canada.
So what's up next year? Simple: Huawei is spending $1.5 billion to build its own mobile ecosystem. Foremost of which are its apps store called AppGallery, and its map services based on China Beidu GPS system and map apps. The latter already dominate in China, S Asia, Africa, S America. Beidu 50-bird constellation up and running. Next year all Huawei computing products expected to run its own Harmony OS, which recently finished development for phones. Then Huawei Mate 30 will be shipped to the world outside of Nutsland with Harmony OS, complete with Huawei app services in all languages. Plus one more - full implementation of 5G mobile networking. It's the best phone anybody can buy. And that just might include Americans who will snatch them up via online stores.

Very nice phone, I wouldn't need screen display on the edges, would act like a bar of soap and fling right out of my hand.
I'm pretty sure Huawei phones are banned because of the spy tech capabilities and not the customer ads type.
Tariffs are part of a long term financial plan after all the guy spent his whole adult life making business deals.

Everyone who is butt-hurt about not being able to buy this, intelligence agencies in the US, Netherlands, UK and other European countries, have shown that Huawei has backdoors built into their 5g networks, and all their devices that allow the Chinese government to spy on whoever uses it, and whoever is communicating with whoever uses it. It's been shown Wuawei is lying when they say that they abide by the laws of whatever country they operate in, and dont let china spy. These backdoors cannot be blocked they're built into the foundation of the devices and service. Why would you believe Wuawei over ever major intelligence agency in the world, that china will not use them to spy? That's so stupid, Waewei is directly run by intelligence officials of China. It's a freakin communist government, even with the way china has become slightly more capitalist in their economic practices, all native companies are still directly associated with, run by, or controlled to a large extent by the government itself.
