In all these wild upsets this year, clutch defensive plays have been huge.
And clutch free throws
And refs
And not living and dying by the 3.
And leading when time expires is also huge. And having lots of tegridy
I'm used to watching NBA, where defense is, well, less. Borderline illegal.
As outstanding as Devo Davis was in the 2nd half, you've gotta give it up for Ricky Council. He had to be the #1 option when Davis fouled out, and he didn't disappoint
Council the man to go to in the clutch because his decision making is top notch and free throw shooting is money just like the Illinois game Thursday.
Unbelievable.. . Arkansas was letting it slip away then BOOM.. Lady Luck and alot of Determination.. Got it done . ☠️🍻
I 200% agree with you, KT. Ricky Council stepped up in an enormous way down the stretch. He calmly moved
into the role of lead dog and took care of the rock. Most importantly, he played to his strengths, which is committing to aggressively driving the basketball and either scoring the ball or drawing contact. I'm so d@mn happy for RCIV!!
Ricky went beast mode. Congrats to the Arkansas. This tournament so far didn't disappoint.

One of my happiest moments as a Razorback fan, I knew we had a chance if we played to our potential, but wasn't expecting the game to unfold like this. We earned this one, the Hogs pulled this out of the fire big time.
Taking form as one of the best March Madness seasons in my memory. Still got a long way yet. Quoting one of the talking heads terms, "greatest reality TV."
So happy for all of these guys. It was looking like it was destined to be a very disappointing year.. the beauty of college basketball is that you just have to get hot and figure things out at the right time! This team has done that, and man has it been fun to watch! Devo may be playing himself into the nba this year if he keeps playing like he has. Love that kid! So happy he's a Razorback!

@Rileyprobs cuz they underestimated how talented some of these lowly ranked teams can be in the final seconds and were conserving energy for the next game they wouldn’t even be playing anyway. Just a basic 1 seed mistake.

Nice of the announcers to continually say what Kansas needs to do to win.
I don't know how often you get a chance to watch Kansas, but it's always been this way. Unless they're playing Duke, Kentucky, or North Carolina, then it's the other way around. Similar to watching an Alabama football game.
They did the same thing when Auburn beat the snot out of them a few years ago on their run to the final four we were up 20 points and they were talking about how great Kansas was good job Arkansas way to take them to school! Rock Chalk take a walk!
This is the only major upset so far that I predicted. Arkansas is a great defensive team, and they match up really well against a lot of the higher seeds

Clutch free throws is almost as heart pounding as waiting out the final seconds

RC4 and Walsh in Beast Mode tonight. Devo. My man. What can you say? He put the team on his shoulders when things looked bleak and just delivered. Beast mode on steroids. And Camani! Clutch O boards and put backs. This was a team win -everyone did their part and play clutch ball.

No one expected us to win. But honestly it was not an upset. ARKANSAS is as talented as anyone in the entire country. Just been trying to get it together all season. Next game should be easier than tonight to. I think Arkansas will play UConn next

As an Arizona fan, I approve this. It makes the humiliation of losing slightly less painful.
Except Arkansas is exceedingly more talented than 15-seed Princeton, although they did dominate a VERY good Mizzou team today. The truth is that there's just not as big of a disparity between the 1-seeds and everyone else this year, and that much has been painfully apparent. #WPS

You need to shoot that last foul shot to the side of the rim you can't risk shooting it straight on. In this case preferably to the left side where your big was.
Not many can do it well. It’s def not something practiced a lot. You can even practice it a million times but that reminds me of how luka did it and then he caught the rebound and made the put back and done. There’s a reason guys are where they are. Wilson is a 4 year college player. Probably a fringe nba player both now you can see the difference in just one play. These kind of things are the difference between a legend and just another guy
With his shooting percentage, he probably should have tried to make it. 😂

Arkansas continued one narrative that has been true since 2017: Every defending national champion has not gotten past the first weekend since Wisconsin upset Villanova that year.
I figured this game would be very close given the Razorbacks’s physicality on defense.
Can't miss even if you try, I think. Priceless.

I'm happy with the win .. Go Hogs,,, but with the money paid to coaches ,, The B.B. team had one of the nation's best recruiting classes , Arkansas wins against a top ranked team its always a shocker! Hogs shouldn't always be the underdog!

NSJ struggled today. Council and Devo Davis were the guys who saved us, though Council is probably getting drafted so that part is fair.

Haven't watch CBB for a while. Still have upsets and fantastic finishes, but the lack of good passing is is noticeable. I assume this is the AAU effect people talk about.
And this matchup broke a record right from the tip, for the total amount of bad hair in one game

Is it just me or did the Kansas player who caught the ball on the out of bounds play at the beginning immediately travel with it? How many steps are you allowed to take after you catch the ball?

@serchizm then you’re blind. He catches the ball in stride then steps with his left foot. All on the left side of the ref. He then passes the ref and you see him make 3 steps all before he even starts to dribble the ball. Watch it in .25 speed.

When mccullars didn’t box his man out it really killed them cause Johnson fairly easily got the rebound and lay up. Guys dont box out, guess it’s a things of the past
Perhaps that last foul shot by Kansas should have been intentionally missed with the hope for an offensive rebound and put back.

One terrible call after another by the refs. Basically ruined the end of the game, which happens all too often in basketball!

You have to practice missing FTs to actually miss them. These players don't practice that though. Also, that play with 16 seconds left wasn't a good one. Either they get a quick 2 or hold it for the last shot. Taking 8 seconds off of the clock just to get fouled was good.

Kansas player just fell down on next to last Kansas possession. Correct call would have been a travel by Kansas, not a foul by Arkansas. The refereeing in the tournament has been predictable and pathetic!
