Nah,losing to a group of future lawyers and presidents is CRAZY
And finance bros. Don’t forget the future Patrick Bateman’s.
Yo😂
Losing *
@MVP thats why hes’s not in princeton.
Losing to a team from a league that does not offer athletic scholarships is beyond embarrassing.
They do offer athletic scholarships.
😂😂😂😂 where are you getting your information lol
@AB Uh…No they don’t. Some student athletes from Brown recently filed a lawsuit against the school for that very reason. It’s pretty common knowledge.
@Tony C Maybe for Brown, but Harvard and Princeton both allow athletic scholarships. I know this because I had scholarship offers for baseball from both of these schools. Not a lot of $ worth or %, but they do give scholarships.
The Ivies only offer need-based financial aid, not the traditional full-ride athletic scholarships offered by other schools. Tony C is right.
The upsets are part of the beauty of March Madness!
they always happen
FACTS!
@Mark Richardson ALSO FACTS!
Keep peaching😂😂
27 years ago, Pete Carill led the Princeton University Tigers to an upset of the UCLA Bruins. Now, Mitch Henderson carried 15th seeded Princeton to a stunning 59-55 win over the 2nd ranked Wildcats of Arizona. It was Princeton's 1st tournament win since 1998.👍
And Mitch Henderson played in both the 1996 and 1998 games! (I was there watching vs UCLA) Congrats, Tigers.
And somewhere Coach Pete has a smile on his face and appreciated the bounce pass for the shooting foul. Enjoy that cigar! RIP coach.
@Yong-Nam Jun RIP coach. He would have loved this.
I remember that game against UCLA.
AZ not ranked #2.
Arizona’s offense down the stretch was atrocious. Couldn’t feed the bigs and just hoisting up bad shots
This is what uconn does as well, as a uconn fan I would be very happy if they made it to the sweet sixteen
Do you think any of those guys will make NBA? It seems they are not good enough. but idk i'm not an expert. But now when I watch college vs NBA it seems there is quite a big gap.
they dont resemble a 2 seed
You got that right.
@BreakingBoxes They looked like the 15 seed. Horrible.
Princeton usually a #15 seed always plays opponents tough. A well deserved win.
they regularly put on a good show in the ivy league too.
Took Kentucky to the wire in 2011 as a 13
@madbengalsfan85 as well as ND when they were a 12 seed
Princeton Tigers always battle till the end. Congratulations on the victory in 1st 2 rounds. Go Tigers sweet sixteen.
As a UK fan, I can say that when these type of games get tight late game, alot of times the bigger seeded teams start feeling pressure and choke. It happened to UK last year also.
St. Peters played out of their mind the entire tourney. Princeton didn't play all that well here and still won. Which makes me think if they play good they can make more noise.
I've seen all eleven 15 over 2 upsets (yes I am old), but this is the first time that the 15 seed has ever played a bad game and still won. Every other time the kids on the 15 have played the game of their lives. Not this time - Princeton didn't do anything special, Arizona was just that much worse. By far the worst performance I have ever seen by a #2 seeded team.
They probably underestimated their opponents and thought it would be a cake walk ao they played at 40%
It looked like they were almost throwing the game here
Nicely rigged ? 🎶🎶
You sound like my friend Bob. Is that you buddy? Lol
I know losses like this are heartbreaking to the higher seeds and their fans, but it is the games like this one that make the Tournament entertaining. And with yesterday’s win, there is now an Ivy League team in the Sweet Sixteen.
Arizona couldn't score a single bucket in the last 4 minutes. MADNESS!!!!
More like 5
What a great fantastic game! The level of play is at an extremely high level. It's a shame someone had lose. A NCAA basketball classic.
I had AZ to take it all this year. This game looked like a high school dance compared to the Charleston SDSU game. That game was physical, competitive and intense.
Shattered dreams!
Me too. Talk about a bracket buster. This just totally destroyed mine.
Princeton and Furman just obliterated every bracket on the face of the earth
Not mine!
@Josip Broz sheeeeesh
685 perfect brackets remain.
@CybeastID out of like 20 mill+ yup
FDU: Allow us to introduce ourselves
Seeing the fan reactions was almost mote fun and exciting than the game itself. Love seeing an underdog finish ok top
This tournament is full of surprises. Never underestimate the Underdog!
That's the upset/losing formula for any future incoming #2 seeds. On selection Sunday if your mascot is a Wildcat do whatever it takes to stay away from the 2 line🤯😉. As a Kentucky fan I witnessed it firsthand last year and it still hurts. The madness is real this time of year, heart attacks and heartbreak go hand in hand and I'm totally here for it. The most exciting time in sports, period....
amen. BBN!!!
Saint peters run was insane 😮💨🥴
SHEESH dont want to be a Wildcat its bad luck 😨
or a buckeye.
The way Princeton played all through out the game they looked they are the 2 seeded👏🔥
Princeton made an art form of these upsets under Pete Carrill back in the 1980s. That was especially true before the shot clock. They would sleepwalk through a half court offense, and then find the open cutter for a back door layup.
Princeton has always took pride in their defense! Great job tigers!
The coach himself couldn’t believe it 😂😂😂😂
I was at UCLA vs Princeton in 96, this didn't have quite the sane crowd energy. But the script was familiar! Great job Tigers!
i watched depaul beat ucla in 83. that was madness.
Probably because the game was played in Sacramento
I have seen this phenomenon all my life. A good team will play up to the level of the competition. We never give 100 percent. But when we compete against a so called better team, we dig deeper into our gut. We never want to embarrass our school. A good coach understands this. The measure of the heart.
To the Wildcats: As a Sun Devil whose own men's basketball team blew a large 2nd half lead this year in the 1st round, I feel your pain. Mostly (at least we got a W b4hand). :Þ
If you know much about this AZ team then you don't find this to be shocking.
As an Illinois fan having to watch them flounder. To find Princeton with the chance to win, and seal this game. The upset made me happy for March Madness.
I actually picked Princeton to win. First time I ever predicted a 15-over-2 upset in my bracket.
Congrats. My first 15 over 2 was Gulf Coast over Georgetown in 2013. Georgetown is a choke artist, as is Arizona.
Saw this coming. After seeing them play against UCLA last weekend, it’s clear lack of discipline in perimeter offense, lack of shooters, and lack of quality PG were their weakness
That strange foul near the end hints at a nice rig job 🙏
The tourney is heating up!!
What a show 🏅🏅🏅
AZ also lost as a 2 seed to a 15 seed back in 1993. Santa Clara Broncos won (Steve Nash team)
Princeton with the upset and Arizona bombing out early as a high seed. Just like the old days!
One of my two most hated teams in all of college basketball with an epic choke job. I was literally standing in front of the TV yelling the final five minutes. Kentucky, don't let me down and choke against Providence today!
How can anyone not love this? That kid Pierce could play for anyone and lead any conference in scoring, and goes to Princeton? that's a win-win.
Congrats Princeton fans!! Writing this as I'm pacing in nervousness worried about Marquette beating Vermont.
I was at the game, princeton had one FT attempt until the final minute or so... such a great experience!
Congratulations Tigers 🐅.
27-years after the big 1st round win over the defending champion UCLA Bruins 👍
College hoops at its best great game both teams
WHEN IT'S MARCH .. IT'S MADNESS ..
Expect the unexpected!
The *MADNESS* is truly here! Second upset of the tournament...and it's only the first day!? I can't wait to see what happens next!
congratulations Princeton! bracket busters!
Awesome !!! Go Princeton !!!
Zona was lucky to win against UCLA. UCLA had 2 of their best players out.
I warned all those high and mighty u of a fans that they were lent going to do good after barely beating a injured ucla😂
This shows why Jaime Jaquez is a more valuable asset than Tubelis. JJJ can bring the ball up himself and doesn't have to rely on guys getting it to him.
Exactly right.
If Bona and Clark would have played against Zona in the PAC-12 Tournament championship game UCLA would have won by double digits.
The Bruins loss to Az dropped them from a 1 seed in the West region to #2 but at least they’re still in the West region which is a huge benefit.
ABSOLUTELY!
There is no pressure like March Madness pressure. I ❤ MARCH MADNESS!!!!
It doesn't have to be Any Given Sunday It could be Any Given Night...Someone can Win... And it was PRINCETON This Night....💪💪💪
Pete Carril is smiling down in heaven after Princeton won two games in a city where he used to be an assistant coach under Rick Adelman to advance to the Sweet 16.
All credit to Princeton they played a great game didn't give up!! As for we needed a reality check
This is my favorite part of the tournament. Once the underdogs are gone and it's down to the usual suspects, I lose interest.
Smart AND good at basketball? Princeton got it all.
Reminds me of the old Pete Carril coached teams. When selection Sunday would always come no one wanted to face Princton in the first round because they knew they were in for a tough game, and that the game was going to be slowed down immensely. just ask anyone on that Georgetown Hoya team that they upset.
@Victor Kreitnerthey didn’t beat the Hoyas, but they only lost by 1
Good? Both teams looked horrible (in this clip at least. I didn't watch the game). This looked like th WNBA.
Ivy League in general has always showed out in march for at least the past 15 years. Very underrated conference
Love these types of upsets.
Facts gotta love March Madness!!!!
The hustle play at 3:30 says it all
As a Sun Devil fan it always feels good when they lose...esp by an Ivy league team. Go Princeton!
I still remember when Princeton knocked off the mighty Georgetown Hoyas and no one gave them a punchers chance. They force you to play at their pace and game, and after all these years that have passed it still works against this high scoring powerhouses. No one wants to play this team right now.
You don't remember. The Hoyas won by one point. It was very close though of course and great college teams back then were truly great.
No they lost
that was 1/16 and Princeton came close but lost, check your mem
Princeton lost by one point. Georgetown would make it to the elite eight before getting bounced by Duke and this freshman kid they had named Christian Laettner, who completely dominated Mourning in the game.
Georgetown - 50
Princeton - 49
That game was intense
Princeton goes ROAR! The Tigers are making the #2 Wildcats meow with fear. #15 Princeton Tigers to the Round of 32. 15 > 2
Also, that guy blocking the camera lol!
Unbelievable upset ths season never seen as many big time teams upsets
No one is giving Ballo credit for a heck of a save in the last few seconds that gave AZ a second chance for a 3.
Princeton has got to be the upset kings of March madness. They are always a low seed, when they get in, they win a lot of the time. But over the years I bet you Princeton has upset more teams than any other school.
Scoreless the last 5 minutes 😮
Worth noting that Princeton’s two previous NCAAT games against Notre Dame (2017) and Kentucky (2011 - Brandon Knight’s jumper) were decided by 2 points.
Arizona second loss as a 2 seed!!! History is being made in March Madness.
yea that's right! just realized this.
And Virginia also lost as a heavy favorite again😭
3rd time!! We lost to santa Clara in 93
The other to Xavier?
I'm pretty sure this is the second time Princeton has knocked off a #2 seed.
Arizona fan here. Completely embarrassing. Every loss this season has been to an unranked team. We just love to play down to the level of our opponent.
4-25 free throws made, 3 of those in the absolute clutch.
Arizona played like this game was a gimme. Not much energy and played not to lose instead of playing to win. Congrats to Princeton. They wanted it more. BTW, Arizona supporter since ' 72.
The last 2 years. Wildcats don’t handle 15 seeds very well. Just goes to show how much better the competition is getting. A decade ago you would not think a 15 or 16 seed could win the first game.
Love the David vs Goliath wins...GO PRINCETON
Wow - what an ending!
I love a good underdog story, but honestly, these officials are terrible on both sides. This could have gone either way.
This is what is known as a Bracket Breaker.
Thank you Arizona for taking the 2 seed Wildcats losing to a 15 seed spot this year for Kentucky so hopefully we'll win our game... 😂😂
all year Princeton never played any team ranked in the top 25 - so really we never got to see what they could do against a good team until this game - so now we know
I care nothing for either of these teams, but that was super fun to watch!!
They ran the vaunted Princeton offense on them! No one can deal with that!
What a pass @7:35
Good job Princeton. I am sad because I had Arizona in my championship. I wish I had never watched the pac 12 championship game, that was a fluke
No, this game was the fluke
Losing to your future boss and CEO is shameful.
What a great low tough bounce pass in the tight space .. love the big orange cheerleaders
Zona fan here. Congrats Princeton.
I knew all season this Cats team had a major flaw. They are just awful at quick crisp ball movement. Their pick n rolls are almost non existent.
They got exposed.
Next year should be better.
You also forgot to mention another flaw:
Some games they forget to pay the refs 😂
7:37 Beautiful bounce pass
It’s my favorite part of this highlight clip!
The final few minutes Arizona was making horrible shot decisions.
Let's go princeton!
From this video, Arizona didn't look like a #2 seed team.
Here after Purdue, don’t feel too bad Arizona!
New Jersey in the house let's go Princeton
Imagine training your whole life to be good at something only to lose against to a group of guys who's hobby is basketball.
The fact that they went on an 8-0 run under 2:00 minutes makes it even more embarassing.
"Remember folks, you go to college to learn NOT to party"
-Princeton ☕🗿
Welp. There goes my bracket that had Arizona going all the way. Remind me to never root for Arizona sports.
I had them in my final four. Princeton imo was under seeded.
I coulda told ya this one …None of them do me right on parlays
I had them till elite 8
I had Princeton in the elite eight
Arizona ALWAYS chokes in March. Bad bet.
Uncle Phil is smiling up in heaven
he did hoop for Princeton, good memory
Somebody wake up Princeton's Awoma. How could he be so calm shooting that game winning 1+1?
Everyone witnessed what it looks like to be out, coached and outplayed! ⛽⛽⛽ Arizona tried to do what worked all year long and when it wasn't working they did not make the right adjustments...👂🏽👂🏿👂🏼👂👂🏻... The best team on paper does not always win....🫠🫠🫠
I thought getting Tommy lloyd into the coaching position at zona might change things for them, but man, the wildcats are just cursed in march.
I don't know if this is worse than North Carolina not making the tournament but it's definitely up there
And that was without TWO obvious travel calls not being made on Arizona.
Arizona's offensive play was horrible the last 4 minutes. Most of it was the little guard taking off balance 3's and trying to drive to the hoop against much taller players.
Arizona just gave up.... its like they just thought them showing up would be enough... Its gonna be a long drive home lol
^^^ MAGNIFICENT WIN. one game at a time. HOOK'EM HORNS!
Subyrėjo rungtyvių pabaigoje Arizonos komanda su A.Tubeliu kaip lego žaidimo detalės ir nelauktai pirmame etape baigė NCCA krepšinio sezoną. Labai gaila.
You can cover a camera lens but couldn't cover Princeton 😂😂😂😂
Same thing different year. Wildcats always find a way to choke in the Big Dance. No ball movement, poor offense execution. Part of that was Princeton's choice of defense, and Arizona's coach not preparing his team to run an offense against it.
We’ve got quite a list now of choke jobs Arizona has pulled, this has to be in the top 3 for them all time. The other ones are:
1993 losing to #15 seed Santa Clara
2005 Elite 8 blowing a 15 point lead against Illinois with 4 minutes remaining
This one definitely ranks up there with the other two.
GOTTA LOVE MARCH MADNESS
I enjoyed watching Arizona get beat. Thank you Princeton.
