I love how you play as Cena’s opponents. I never had a problem in 2k16 playing as Austin 20 times, but playing as the opponents keeps it feeling fresh each match.
keeps it fresh until u complete it .then offf to gm mode or universe mode ,the two modes that will gave wwe 2k games a long givity.wish in showcase mode they let us choose to play as john cena or his opponants.
“How did that happen?”
“He’s John Cena”
“How did he reverse that?”
“It’s John Cena”
“How did he get up and he’s stunned?”
“He’s John Cena”
Moral of the story is………he’s John Cena 😂

@TherealRNO i know what your point was but im saying Carlito wont be in it. he is not under contract whatsoever with WWE. not even on a Legends contract. he lost so many matches in his career so to chalk up 1 loss in 2003-2005 as carlito is a pretty uneducated guess. they only put guys under contract with WWE whether it be a active competitor or a legend. you might see him in a video package like owen hart but not as a playable character for the game.
Watching that RVD match and how Cena acted and the things he did, just reminded me how great of a heel John Cena could of been. Such a missed opportunity to not have him go heel it would of been gold.

Kinda wished if he won, he would attack RVD after the match. Really would've pissed the crowd off.

I’m glad to see cena is the showcase story for the game this year!!! A legend in his own right, a future WWE hall of famer, and now taking his talents to do movies, which are amazing, and he’s becoming an amazing actor. Way to go Cena!!!! Never give up!!!
Really hope Big E comes back to wrestle in the WWE soon + am happy to see him looking well here.

@Jay W To his detractors, Cena's not in the conversion to be Greatest of All Time, but to his fans, he's certainly there. I mean, he's tied with Ric Flair in WWE canon with 16 title reigns, even though Flair, technically, has more than 16 outside of WWE's kayfabe rewrite of history.

After hearing Cena reminiscing on a 20+ year career I’m really hoping for a Randy Orton showcase at some point since he’s one of the only ones from his era that has stayed there pretty much full time

I was just thinking this the other day. Orton has had such a great career, from legend killer to rkbro to evolution, he’s always been great.
That WWE 2K23 showcase looks very interesting. But I never never saw John Cena versus RVD on ECW. That’s the very first time I saw that I cannot wait for this game to come out so I can see more of his matches. I have been really missing out
I really love the Showcase Story Mode of John Cena in the WWE2K23 game, the match between Cena & RVD was super good and awesome!!!! Again congrats to John Cena
The Rey Mysterio showcase in 2K22 was awesome and this one looks really good too! The transitions from game play to animated to footage are so cool!
People talk about Cena and how rough that night was for him, how he had never had the crowd against him like that... but on the opposite end, I bet RVD was on top of the world that night
Man I remember this match back in the day. I had to find it on the internet years after since I wasn't watching at the time it happened. Crazy atmosphere, rabid ECW fans going nuts, and a really good story, Cena having to work heel a little bit to give RVD that shine. Probably still stands the test of time compared to todays matches.
I grew up watching this man john Cena literally take over wrestling and destroy people Cena is just elite legend the goat 🐐
For those unaware,the game is still in final development. Xavier most likely is playing the beta version of the game.
Big E and Xavier Woods were hilarious at the end when they were giggling about seeing John Cena 🤣 😂 😆 😭 😄

Man, the transition to live footage is amazing! Smoother than it was in WW2K22.
This mode looks very fun and the cuts and cena commentary is on point, can't wait!
I thought Carlito might be in but it doesn't look like it from the images that have been released. Pretty gutted about that. I hope there's some newer legends in this year, and we definitely need more female legends.
@Baron Cross Or, if Carlito struck a deal with 2K & WWE's okay with having him in the game, his debut match where he won the U.S. title from Cena could still be included, as could the Smackdown Parking Lot Brawl which Eddie Guerrero won against Cena after the latter had carjacked his Low Rider, stealing hubcaps & a tire from the car.
@TherealRNO I was responding to someone talking about Edge vs Cena. But they could use thuganomics Cena vs Big Evil Undertaker at Vengeance 2003 or Cena vs Lesnar Backlash 2003 since he lost both matches.
@Baron Cross No. We need a match from his "Dr. of Thugonomics" run & that only was from 2003-2005. The match already on the list for 2005 was after he quit the rapping gimmick entirely & had transitioned into the Chain Gang Soldier/The Marine aka "prototype" SuperCena.
Thuganomics Cena is on the cover of the Deluxe Edition, there is no way Thuganomics Cena doesn't have a showcase match.

This looks super good they did a fantastic job 2K got down to Business this time
as someone who wasn't a big big showcase guy, my main gripe with this one is the same as rey's the use of WWE footage in cutscenes. 1) it's harder for content creators to show those cutscenes with fear of being copyright struck and 2) Makes ppl just wanna watch the matches instead
To be fair, I imagine that's less of a concern for them than that people enjoy the mode (especially if it gets them to watch the matches instead haha). But oh well. Maybe if people make enough noise they can do a streamer mode.

I’m really excited to play this game for Showcase Mode featuring JOHN CENA and also we have new match type in this game, THE WARGAMES match! I pre-ordered and pre-installed this game on my XBOX SERIES S already but it’s too early to launched the game so I have to wait longer until March 17th and I hope Sasha Banks was in WWE 2K23 but it is impossible to have her in the game.
