Easter Eggs You Missed In The Mandalorian Episode 1

  • Aside from all the weird aliens, roguish bounty hunters and thrilling action sequences, one thing Disney's flagship series The Mandalorian has in common with the Star Wars saga is that it's chock-full of subtle references and callbacks to other Star Wars media. Here are a few you may have missed.
As you'd hope from any decent Star Wars story, The Mandalorian features all kinds of different alien races and cultures. Take that first bar scene, for example. During this scene, a fearsome-looking man with an unruly beard beats up on a blue-skinned Mythrol, the bounty the Mandalorian is after.
This guy then tries to pick a fight with the Mandalorian himself.
But here's a bonus, for you: the language he's speaking is Huttese, the language of the Hutts, which is used most notably by Jabba in Return of the Jedi.
After the Mandalorian captures and carts off the Mythrol to collect the price on his head, the prisoner makes small talk with the stoic, silent bounty hunter back on his ship.
So what's Life Day? Well, it's the Star Wars universe's equivalent of Christmas, a time for celebrating and relaxing with loved ones. It was first introduced in The Star Wars Holiday Special, an infamous Star Wars-themed television variety show. The Special follows Chewbacca's family as they watch futuristic TV and wait for him to arrive for Life Day. It even ends with Princess Leia singing a Life Day carol. Keep watching the video to see the Easter eggs you missed in The Mandalorian episode 1!

In my opinion Jango Fett betrayed the Mandalorian.

    • Chronus4483
      Chronus4483 19 ngày trước

Jango Did take his helm off willingly thus NOT a true Mandalorian

    • Chronus4483
      Chronus4483 19 ngày trước

Well Boba was a mandalorian. As he was Jango's clone. He was more mandalorian as he never did take the helm off. To say Boba Fett is less, is to say Luke was not a Jedi

Actually, the Kowakian Monkey Lizard is also canon in Resistance as well, and there's apparently a Gorilla-sized Variant in there, something some pirates learned the hard way.

There's also references to Rebels and Clone Wars, previous projects Dave Filoni's been a part of, as well as the Ewok Adventures movie series, like the Blurrg, their tempers, use as mounts, IG Units being specially designed and thus IG-11's self-destruct so his specs can't be captured (a nod to IG-88's origin). The Ugnaught Farmer also mentions Mythosaurs, another ref to the Christmas Special.

Honestly what i'm the most happy about here is Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are going to re-canonize as much as they can with this show, even if it's just in passing.

pretty certain there were Pazaak cards in the cantina. Pazaak being the gambling game from KOTOR.

Also this video is some painfully obvious "Easter Eggs". More of just feature of star wars than references. I think the least you could so it look into some other star wars media before making a video referencing older star wars media.

No, Boba never joined the Mandalorians. If you are a child or clone of a Mandalorian you are not automaticly a Mandalorian yourself, its not a race, you have to manualy join and earn it.

Of course the mandalorian liked his odds against the Stormtroopers. His armor seems blaster resistant (blaster proof maybe) and the Stormtroopers couldn't hit him anyway.

Boba isn’t dead by the way... wait... it’s canon. Which universe is a clunky mess.
Legends- boba and jango are both mandalorian and both become mandalore at some part of their lives.
Canon - I dunno how he even got mandalorian armor 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know that in Rebels someone says that Boba isn't a real mandalorian and that he stole the armor, but I don't think that was meant to be taken literally. I think he was referring to the fact that he was a clone of one and took the armor off of his father. He wasn't raised among a clan, but I think genetically and culturally he was a Mandalorian

    • Amy Ennis
      Amy Ennis 26 ngày trước

Exactly. Since he is my favorite character, I took offense at this statement. He’s obviously a Mandalorian, but he is a clone. He’s not a fraud like the video claims.

None of these easter egg videos talk about Life Day celebrations from Star Wars Galaxies. It was the best time of the year! lol

  • KeyFrame11Media
    KeyFrame11Media 27 ngày trước +4

Some call these easter eggs. Others call them elements of continuity. It's like pointing out one line of clothing being seen somewhere else. Or a Norwegian language being used by someone else at some point.
An easter egg is more like a hidden gem, not a subtle reference or callback.
Catching a rebellion flag with a burn mark in the background of a cinematic point of conflict and then remembering that same flag sporting the same burn mark was being waved by a Martial in a different film meant to be decades earlier or even in a completely different storyline, is an easter egg.
Referencing life day is more like referencing Kwanzaa in real every day life. It's a known holiday in the Star Wars universe, so with enough material at some point someone would have made mention of it.

Seriously, episode 1, I need to go to this planet and get this target, and I have a tracker for the target I'm after.
Hum, I know, I'll fly to the planet land my ship a million miles away from the target, then bond with old man-bear-pig, learn to ride weird creatures, oh and even though those creatures tried to rip my arm off earlier, the one I'm trying to break will just throw me off its back rather than try to eat me... that scans
Then when I get to the stronghold I'll be completely out numbered and outgunned... Dam I wish I'd brought that ship of mine, it would have made easy work of the evil doers, but unfortunately it isn't 4 wheel drive and wouldn't have survived the harsh terrain... Wait...What... I could have flown it here you say... FACE PALM!!!

Chuck Norris version, fly to planet, blast bad guys from comfort of my space ship, land close by, shoot any left over bad guys, get target, hop back on ship and away I go... Mission Accomplished!!!
