Pfft without a hand, how are you gonna slap away all the other pretenders to the land.
The flag of northern Ireland should be the Irish Tricolour #changemymind
The Irish flag, stretched on the top of a white background, distorted so the Irish flag part has an indent, Hand Star thingy goes in the indent, Harp below Hand Star thingy.
Where’s part 2 to the family tree video that’s like idk 5 years old
And colonised sould hot be In " it's is exactly what that did
I see a 4 minute video on NI flags and am just here to see how much he needs to skip to talk about flags and miss represent how uncomfortable that flag can me people feel.
Northern Ireland should have the original Irish flag, green background with gold harp.
I like to wander the forest of knowledge with one main topic. And I never get lost. Wanna know why?I have 64 dirt blocks and an unbreakable diamond shovel with efficiency 5. (Minecraft reference for you Fortnite guys)

Errrm i thought a diagonal red on White flag represented n. Ireland as per the union Jack. No?
Geez, I hate it when books in a forest possess me and force me to talk about the troubles. So annoying
Your a monky
An answer to a question I didn’t know existed!
IRA has enter chat
Funny you ussed the netherlands dlag
Why doesn't Northern Ireland use the Cross of St. Patrick? That would go well with it appearing on the Union Jack.
I thought that the union jack's diagonal red stripes represent Northern Ireland. Why wouldn't Northern Ireland just use the diagonal red stripes?
Represents st Patrick and he's considered a Catholic+symbol of Irishness so it doesn't really work for Protestant unionists
CGP Grey presents: Fun with flags
SuperDank presents: no stop
The British never colonized anything. They colonised a shit ton, though.
Free Northern Ireland
Coming up to the 12th July 🇬🇧🇬🇧
espacfc23 Ha, there’s always one prick. And of course his a triggered Fenian😂😂
Ah the 12th of July, a racist holiday used by uneducated pricks as an excuse to pick on anyone that isn’t exactly like them. Stick it up your arse, up the ra.
Okay but why does it have a Star of David?
I thought it would be a video explaining that the Ulster banner also has some of the southern counties such as Donegal and Cavan making it incorrect to say that it's northern Ireland when there's counties from the republic included in the province of Ulster
Max there is also a flag with a yellow back ground the GAA and Ulster rugby use it.
I would love to see a video from you about how a third party candidate could have a chance strategically to win a US election today's political setup. I share your ranked voting videos every time someone brings up politics. Wish you made videos more often. So good.
I love how Grey enunciates like a proper teenage drama queen at 1:32 😁“The hand comes with a Lady ♬ Go-DIVA ♪ style story …”
Northern Ireland shouldn't be part of the UK, just like the Falklands or Gibraltar. It's just imperialism.
The red hand is probably a reference to the Red Hand Branch Knights, they fought the Celts when they invaded around 500BC. The Scots are important because in the 5 Century BC the son of the King of Ireland went to Scotland with his Egyptian bride Scota and a group of followers. Their descendants were known as the descendants of Scota from which the name Scotland was derived. England did not colonise Northern Ireland, when the Ulster Scots were under attack they sent word to their kith and kin is Scotland who came to their assistance due to the Massacre of the Protestants
BREXIT BRIEFLY RE RE VISITED
Shut the hecc up
now. you. need. to. do. a. video. on. the. reservations.
Still waiting for that reservation video
Yea, the flag is used and recognised. By unionists. And only by unionists.

It's not a flag its a fleg
Hmm... 4:22 - why a volleyball in a basketball game?
WOAH that animation around the troubles areaThat'sA whole 2 extra hours of animation
I like this style of video. Can you make more like it?
@CGP Grey: here's a question: The union flag has the St George's Cross and the St Andrew's Saltire. And the St Patrick's cross. That's because the UK is the union of the Kingdoms of England, Scotland and Ireland. Wales has been incorporated into England by Henry VIII, therefore it is not a kingdom and its symbols are not in the union flag. But then Ireland split into two. So, what does the St Patrick's cross represent? Is Northern Ireland a kingdom? Or is Ireland a divided kingdom, making Northern Ireland part of the lost kingdom of Ireland?
Well, this is a civilised comment section. I'm genuinely amazed
theres some toxic people but not many compared to other videos
Just thinking this myself. Mr Grey must have a quality audience judging by these comments...BTW witty and informative video!
I know my friend, it’s been a long since I’ve seen a comment section on a video about Northern Ireland where I don’t see people fighting.Truly... this is a miracle... but it probably won’t last...
R.I.P CGP Grey
Please do a piece on the troubles. It is always coming up on the periphery, it is time to deal with it head on, before it takes us off the path in the forest of knowledge.
2:51 wth? What is the book?
All I know is this... I went to Ireland several yrs ago, and everyone said to stay SOUTH. I did, and I had a lovely time.
It was hilarious when I saw that Great Britain colonized it but I expected it considering they have like 1000 territories
Poor, tiny motherland.bets on this video getting more viewers than Northern Ireland's population?
0:10 Scotland has 3 arms.
The solution is to use the flag of St Patrick. To the nationalists / Catholics it is a flag that represents a catholic saint and a patron of Ireland. To the Unionists / Protestants it is a flag that represents Ireland in the flag of the United Kingdom.
The red hand of Ulster boys
"at least currently" best way to describe the whole situation in Ireland tbf
So, couldn't (moderate) Unionists and Republicans have joined forces for a flag for Northern Ireland and just Northern Ireland?
no, because republicans think that northern ireland is part of the roi and therefore should have the same flag.
I’m bored because I’ve watch all of your videos all the way through
@ 4:20, does it bother any one else that the players are playing basketball with a volley ball and using a basket with no back board?
@Barnaby Hands looking at the lines on the court compared to the wikipedia page describing the sport, you must be right. I have never heard of netball, so now I have learned something else from the video!! Thanks for the reply!!
They're most likely playing Netball, given the ball, the net, and the popularity of netball compared to the other two sports in Northern Ireland.
reported for nudity.
well only those in the UK can have flags and not filthy terrorists
The UK are filthy terrorists
Do one about the flag of Belgium
They really should make that flag official just because it's cool. That hand of theirs is burning red. Its loud roar tells them to grasp victory. Also it has a six pointed star on it, which has to be making certain flavors of conspiracy theorists crazy.
Yeah, he didn't really dive into where the fuck that came from?
