I wish the people of Somaliland to find freedom. Greetings from Slovakia, which is celebrating 30 years of freedom and I have to thank the brothers Czech that it was so smooth
Thank you for telling the Somaliland story so beautifully!! I have travelled to Somaliland severally and was always amazed how I could buy gold and exchange money so easily and travelled so freely. They are a beautiful people and I hope one day they can get the freedom and recognition they deserve.
Its not a country and british somaliland and italian somaliland didn’t have ”separated” and ”different” cultures everything about ”somalilanders” is somali
Somaliland is one of my fav places in the world and I'm SO GLAD that you told this story properly! Las Geel is remarkable! And the characters in this story make it all the more fun to watch. Thanks for making this bro!
The love I have for Thomas and his team, and the message behind seek discomfort and yes theory is beyond me. The education and love in all of these videos opens my eyes in ways I never thought was possible. What an amazing team, and I will continue buying from seek discomfort and supporting 🧡
Big ups to Kwame who captured the whole trip so gracefully and professionally. All the cinematic shots, the colours everything enhanced the video so well. Literally icing on the cake. The guy had to carry that one hell of a heavy camera throughout the trip.
@Yes Theory Hi, Yes Theory! From PH(Philippines) here😇 I'm a mo. or 2 subscriber and binge watch your videos and may I ask if you might want to visit our country? 😅 You have visited many beautiful/exciting countries but I've noticed you haven't been to ours. Hahaha Excited for you to knock on our door and invite me for adventure. #Kiddin' Hope 2 see you soon. I mean your video featuring our country's best. God Bless and Take Care. -Love from PH
As a person who has traveled to over 30 countries, and yet I still know nothing of this world. Thank you for bringing light stories and history of the voiceless
Thanks for the fresh insights into Somaliland. As a Kenyan who is one country away, With a sizable Somali community in my country, I’ve learned a lot that I didn’t know about Somaliland. My best wishes to you in your future adventures and to Samiya with her incredible effort towards the education of girls in her community. Be blessed! 🙏
@yetlin Yes. check the maps of British East Africa. Anyway, we should create the United States of Eastern Africa (USEA) made up of Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and SSudan. It will be a precursor to the United States of Africa (USA) . All this tribalism nd fragmentation is not helping us
I was born in 80 and remember the suffering there I feel so ignorant to have not known until now they were even independent and so peaceful. Many prayers to their people 🙏🙏🙏

I am proud as a seeker, to see what I do for supporting Seek Discomfort serves at helping communities like these. Thank you Thomas for another yet incredible video.
their editing always gives me goosebumps, the way they build tension and draw us in is addicting. motivates me to get better at telling and sharing stories.
I want to thank everyone who involved in the making of this video. You made me cry. I have a one year old sleeping next to me right now. I'll show him this video one day when he's grown. Thank you. God bless.
dude i wouldnt run a currency exchange like that in the open in any city in america. very curious that theyre comfortable with that. really says a lot about the safety of the country and bravery of the people
It's less about safety and more about meaning; two different people from different backgrounds can look at the same thing at the same time and yet the value they place would be completely different.
@Free pie I agree 100%, that police have a reasonable justification to confiscate it because there is approximately $300 billion in money laundering through the United States each year, and here the people can not understand what money laundering is let alone that it does exist.
@Research GAP here in america if you carry a trunk full of cash there is a reasonable chance police will confiscate it and claim it was "part of a criminal investigation". they might also claim the vehicle you were driving
This reminds me of one night traveling from Hargeisa to Berbera the port city at 1 am carrying bundles of cash in my vehicle's trunk, one of the checkpoint guards asked me to open the trunk, and he saw a full of money with his handheld flashlight and he asked me what is this for and I have replied confidently it is for custom duties that I am going to pay in the morning and he said SAVE JOURNEY BROTHER, Now tell me where that kind of stuff is possible?
Somaliland is really a lot safer than many countries including the US. People are armed with happy faces that make you feel you have come to a different planet you thought never exist!
My uncle was 17 and herding his camels outside of Hargeisa when he was shot in the head and now I was born and raised in Hargeisa just after the genocide. I have never been short of bread nor had to worry about being robbed/killed. although, we spent more than 15 years living in one of the bombing-affected homes shown in the video and I’m grateful for that. This and many other were our bed-time stories for long. I appreciate you Matt by shedding to light the bitter stories of the Somaliland people.
@Echo there are MAJOR language AND cultural differences. There are 5 types of somalis and NONE are the same. If you have any sense and integrity, go do some genuine research, and accept the truth for what it is, and then make others aware of it too.
@Here We Go Again youre acting like you’re a whole different group of people and its funny🤣🤣🤣. Every somali is the same there is no ”somalilander” or ”djiboutian” EVERY SOMALI HAS THE SAME LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
I think media plays a very significant role to portray the reputation of these countries and unfortunately most of the times it’s so negative. So glad to see that at least someone is there from this side of the world to show the reality of that side of the world.
So amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you. The people, awesome, the cave art, unreal, the history, sad and amazing. May their future continue to advance.
It seems to me I heard about this decades ago briefly on the news. It's a shame they are still not being represented in the un. Perhaps a 60 minutes story could help. What beautiful people there!
Thanks for telling about this beautiful country and culture I didn't know about. It almost makes me cry to see the love of the people for thier own country.
I can't understand how this channel over the years have managed to make every episode so inspiring and wholesome that it changes my whole mood. Every episode is a therapy for me. I live for these. Thank you so much Thomas, and the team, you are the reason I got through so many tough days ❤️
Well, b/c they are not showing the ugly side? Why do you think there is no crime? B/c they would cut your arms off publicly & drive you around the town. And apparently history of Somala starts in 1884. Romans were there & probably Ottomans & Arabs. They weren't nice/friendly guys And the tribal wars.... Slavery was officially ended in 1930th: "The Italian colonial administration abolished slavery in Somalia at the turn of the 20th century. However, some Somali clans notably the Biimal clan opposed this idea. The Bimaals fought Italians to keep their slaves. Although the Italians freed some Bantus, some Bantu groups, remained enslaved well until the 1930s, and continued to be despised and discriminated against by large parts of Somali society."
Aaah 😌 I’m so glad and happy that you finally visited my homeland i have been a fan for such long time and i want to thank you for making this journey to tell the whole world there’s a paradise which called SOMALILAND Much love brother ❤️✌🏾
As an african, its so nice to see people from africa being so happy despite what they've been through. May you continue your good job. You're life changers for real 🖤🖤
I just found your channel. What you are doing to bring attention and give voice to others is amazing. I will buy some of your clothes to support. Thank you 💗
Great video, have always known there’s more to life than meets the eye, I feel like in this life i am supposed to be doing more than i am doing for the people i love. been seeking for an eye opening enlightenment, a way to be more influential, powerful and protected.~
@Bartholet Bay Well it is not and you can't actually expect it to be open to everyone, but if you want to know more you can look up ANTHONY MARK SZYMON online you will find something interesting.
oh well you can achieve that by being a part of the illuminatus brotherhood, i know it sounds like a mystery but there are ways you can actually get in contact with them
Damn I had no idea about anything about this. All I knew(incorrectly) was somalinalnd broke away from Somalia and both Somalia and Somaliland are stateless nations with rampant piracy and anarchy. But, I love the vibe of people from Somaliland now..they are so warm and friendly.
I love that you guys explore countries that aren’t as well know in the western world. It really opens my eyes and makes me want to travel and learn more about these interesting places. Thank you 🙏 Also love the cute camels!
When is Yes Theory going to call out the immense corruption in Ukraine from foreign aid being laundered using FTX to American made weapons being released into EU Black Markets??? Honestly these people have no idea what "hidden" truly is....
Thank you so much for visiting this beautiful place Thomas. The most intelligent and loving people I have met in my life, have been Somali women. It brings me happiness to see this video showcasing some of that. Your donation will surely change many people's lives for the better, by helping Samiya reach even more young women. Truly inspiring as always
Sure if you support rebel groups taking over citys and claiming independence... It's not so different from when terror organisations taking over areas by military coups...
Everyone should watch #yestheory. You've dismantled propaganda and lies about most countries, you have really educated us. True indeed, we should appreciate how Diverse our World 🌎 is. Kudos Thomas. You are a good One. #TembeaKenya. #magicalkenya. You doing good job.
Amazing work you are doing Thomas. I am glad you took Kwame an African with a different lived experience to witness Somaliland. As a Nigerian seeking to explore the continent better, documentaries like these are extremely appreciated.
Thank you for this video! The country looks amazing and they deserve more. I'm just wondering where did you stay? And did you contact someone from somaliland before going there? Because honestly. I want to go there.
@Ahmed Mohamed peace be upon you brother beautiful country and culture I love videos like these to show us how it truly is in a place compared to what media says or propaganda pushed to the masses!
That interview was captivating! I could listen to her speak about her culture/country for hours! What a special woman Dr Edna is... Also the fund towards girls schooling, the cave paintings, dope camera man, the friendly locals,I wanna g here and just take photos and talk to people for months and months. Epic video as always guys. Top work x
It's such an amazing feeling to watch you guys travel to places which are hidden from the world. Every time when I watch your videos I feel inspired and there always a smile on my face.
@Echo You just contradicted what you said in each reply. How can Somalialand do "hurt innocent people today" (blatant lie btw) when it "is the same thing as Somalia" 🤡🤪🤪
Sociology in which I got my masters degree is far far away from this practical sociology how can a person like you is so cultured friendly and free from all kind of racism. Much love for you #Thomas from Australia born in Pakistan.❤❤
Loving this Africa journey, they're all so diverse yet so connected. I'm glad you're deciding to show the world what life is like outside their own country.
this place seems actually so beautiful and everyone is soo sweet. This makes me want to visit D: Also the Camel bit actually made me roll around laughing loool
Thomas you are a true journalist! We never heard of this country and their peacefulness is beautiful! Thank you for educating us and sharing with us what we will NEVER see in the media! Bravo~Cara 😊
Thank you very much brothers for the beautiful video you have prepared from one of the safest countries in the world! Somaliland is a good place for tourism and it is also a place where people are very nice and welcoming🌼🤗
I do wish I could travel and film with you guys!!! My passion is documentary filming. I teach full time as a film teacher and have always dreamed to travel, document, and film!! What a dream!! ❤❤
This episode opened my eyes and I'm African who lives in Africa yet I didn't know this part of the world existed, this is so inspiring, had to shed tears.. Thanks Yes Theory for enlightening us
@XtraOrdinary1 you cannot enlighten anyone by insulting them. You insinuated that Ben is ignorant because he admitted he did not know about Somaliland before watching this video. No-one knows about absolutely every culture on earth. Just because he expressed appreciation for learning about Somaliland does not make him ignorant, nor does it make you the oracle of all wisdom. Be kind to your fellow human, it doesn’t cost anything.
@~I STAND OUT~ You're absolutely right, and just confirmed and emphasized what I said. I didn't belittle anyone, I stated facts, and tried to enlighten Mr. Ben, but he showed his ignorance by making a statement of being unaware, then replying to me that he "knows".
@XtraOrdinary1 some ppl aren’t as well versed in different cultures, some ppl only know what they see on a daily basis (yes ofc ppl know they’re other races, ethnicity’s etc , but if you aren’t ever introduced to anything other than yours , you seem pretty ignorant compared to the ones who have be blessed to be able to travel the world or their education system puts more emphasis on other cultures. Don’t belittle, enlighten my friend.
Ur story telling and voice are so enticing... As a somalilander i pray we get our recognition back soon, thank u so much, i watched the whole 20+ min. and never felt boredom or anything and thanks for helping those girls.
The quality of your content is excellent and very informative. I find it brings the world closer together with a positive outcome for people who want to experience and learn about other countries.
I’m from Somaliland and I really appreciate you coming to my beautiful country and shedding light to our journey and struggles. May Allah protect you on your future travels.
@H A yes brother, im not a traveller, i dont have much interest in vgoing places n see the world, its just that im looking for a place where i can go, start some business n try to settle down. if u have any advise, i can always use help from an experienced local as what to do n stuff.
@best djaf the crime for stealing in somaliland is punishable with jail, the sharia is away to deter people from stealing, but Alhamdulillah we take care of each other so people dont have the need to steal
Wow, this is an amazing project! Love what you are doing. Especially enjoyed videos about Tuvalu and Bhutan, well, and Moldova of course. Grandpa is my hero now :) Why don't you travel to Georgia? I guarantee that you will find it very interesting.
Just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this story. If u didn't have the courage to go back, I wouldn't of ever known the spirit of humans have such similarities just to be free. Such in justice exist every where. Hard to understand why our voices aren't being heard. But I know because of our new knowledge and knowing that today is a new beginning for us all. Thank you. Keep up the great work and willing to bring us those stories and a side we don't know of. Makes u wonder. Again thank you.

Not to be rude, but i would be the same if Texas just claimed Independence and armed civilians with weapons... Somaliland is Somalia and it should be that way. You cannot just claim a part of a nation..
The way you educate your audience is truly immaculate.
yup. there will now be thousands of more somaliland supporters across the world. i hope they gain their freedom.
I wish the people of Somaliland to find freedom. Greetings from Slovakia, which is celebrating 30 years of freedom and I have to thank the brothers Czech that it was so smooth
Because US government and the state control mainstream media is always lie and spread propaganda about any country they want you fear.
By lies
Educate with misleading people to believe theories are facts. Not cool.
Thank you for telling the Somaliland story so beautifully!! I have travelled to Somaliland severally and was always amazed how I could buy gold and exchange money so easily and travelled so freely. They are a beautiful people and I hope one day they can get the freedom and recognition they deserve.

@Minajslut888 I’m sure Hargeisawis would welcome you very warmly, Minajslut888 😂
Unless you look like a Somali, then you will not feel welcome, very suspicious towards their own people
@Echo somaliland is independent since 1991 please stop attaching us together we’re much safer and stable than somalia
She’s an awful person
@Echo Wrong.

What an incredible woman she is (the elder lady), she is an inspiration.
There’s a book about her life. It’s called “ A Woman of Firsts” by Edna Adan Ismail.
@Warsama Osman I can see why. Thanks for that.
her name is Edna Adam she's the mother of Somaliland.
Wow, this place just seems like a Utopia. Absolutely incredible, thank you for showing us this amazing little country!
It seems to me I heard about this decades ago briefly on the news. It's a shame they are still not being represented in the un. Perhaps a 60 minutes story could help. What beautiful people there!
It’s wrong the Somaliland fake authorities are doing much worse in the Sool and Sanaag regions of somalia on innocent people
If I ever become stupid rich, I’m supporting Samia’s school initiative and the girls basketball team.
Hahha that is nice wish you get s .rich
lol dude with the currency exchange you would need to give 1000 dollars and it would take care of a year of their expenses.

I love your educational but also entertaining videos. You should visit Rwanda 🇷🇼 next. Not many people know about its history.
I can not wait to see the ripple effect the doctors speech has. Her words are so powerful and so moving i just love her.
@Echo You just contradicted what you said in each reply. How can Somalialand do "hurt innocent people today" (blatant lie btw) when it "is the same thing as Somalia" 🤡🤪🤪
@Echo no it isnt 🤦🏾
Somalia and ”somaliland” is the same
Personally I wouldn’t be supporting a bloody and oppressive regime such as Somaliland, the things they did today to innocent people is heartbreaking

@Adin Ross Likewise
@XtraOrdinary1 literally no need for you to say any of this….
In the neighborhood, Kenya, I have never heard of Somaliland. This is educative. 👏👏
Ur story telling and voice are so enticing... As a somalilander i pray we get our recognition back soon, thank u so much, i watched the whole 20+ min. and never felt boredom or anything and thanks for helping those girls.

I'm lactose intolerant and camel milk doesn't make me react at all. It's so good in milkshakes. But so expensive in Australia. 😩
Not surprised you've got the hump - I've had to butt out from goat's milk since the balloon's gone up!
A Somalilander here, thank you Yes Theory for educating the world about us Somalilanders and our country in Africa :)

As an somalilander I will say this, I would die for my country somaliland, but I could never let my country die for me. 🟢⚪️🔴
Not to be rude, but i would be the same if Texas just claimed Independence and armed civilians with weapons...
Somaliland is Somalia and it should be that way. You cannot just claim a part of a nation..
